Capturing Equine Photography Magic with Sky's Tom Cat: A Tennessee Walking Horse Delight

There's nothing I enjoy more than an equine photo session at sunset! The golden hour casts a magical glow over everything, creating an ethereal backdrop that enhances the beauty of the horses and the landscapes around them. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing an exceptional equine companion, Sky's Tom Cat, a 3-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. Tom Cat is not only visually striking, but he also possesses a gentle and affectionate nature that makes him a joy to work with. His impressive lineage is noteworthy as well, with a sire who was celebrated as a world grand champion, which adds to his allure and prestige in the equestrian community.

During our session, I was fortunate to work alongside the talented rider, Morgan O'Neal, who did an outstanding job modeling Tom Cat for the camera. Morgan's connection with Tom Cat was palpable, showcasing a beautiful partnership that truly shone through in the photographs. The way she gently guided him, combined with her graceful presence, made the entire session feel fluid and natural. We captured a variety of poses, from candid moments of Tom Cat walking in the field to more posed shots that highlighted his elegant stature and conformation. This whole session was nothing short of perfect! The combination of the stunning sunset, the vibrant colors of the sky, and the dynamic energy between Morgan and her walking horse created an atmosphere that was simply magical. Honestly, it's one of my all-time favorite sessions, and I cherish the memories and the incredible images we produced together!
