Your senior photo session is a pretty big deal! It's all about capturing one of the most unforgettable times in your life.
So, it makes sense to put some thought and planning into it.
These are the photos that'll be on your parents' walls for years. They'll always remind you of who you were in high school.
As your senior photographer, I'll do my best to make sure they're fun, memorable, and beautiful.

What You Can Look Forward To
When you book a senior session with Jessie Arras Photography, I'll be there to help you every step of the way. We'll kick things off with a chat so I can get to know you and understand your vision for the photos. The more you share, the better I can make the session reflect your unique vibe.
I'll assist you in choosing outfits, picking accessories, and deciding on locations.
It's totally normal to feel a bit nervous if you're not used to being in front of the camera, but no worries. I'll guide you on how to pose and what to do with your hands.
The key is to just be yourself. I want to capture your style and personality! Be you! Feel free to bring along a friend or relative who makes you laugh and helps you have a good time.

Location
Let's kick things off by chatting about where you'd like to go. Think about what you enjoy doing and where you love hanging out.
Are you a city lover? Let's head downtown! The town square has tons of unique spots and awesome lighting with all the buildings around.
Into horseback riding? We can hit the barn or explore the trails!
If the football field is your favorite hangout, let's go there!
Your pictures should really reflect who you are. So, take a moment to think about the places that appeal to you and pick a couple of favorites.
I have a few favorite spots that I'm super familiar with and can help you find the perfect location. But I'm always up for discovering new places, so feel free to suggest something different!

Look Into It
It really helps me out when seniors and their parents have a clear idea of the kind of pictures they want.
Don't be shy about sending me a Pinterest inspiration board or a few pics from Google to my email (Jarrasphotography@gmail.com).
Even better: Check out my senior session portfolio and let me know which of my past photos you love. This is super helpful because it tells me what you're into.

What to Wear
Picking outfits for your senior session can feel like a lot, but don’t worry, I’ve got your back!
First things first: make sure you’re comfortable! You don’t want to be fussing with clothes that don’t fit right, so choose outfits that fit well and make you feel awesome.
Try to steer clear of neon colors, graphic tees, and big logos.
Jewel tones look amazing in photos. Think shades like purple, emerald green, blue, and magenta. Yellow is also a fantastic choice, especially mustard yellow—not the neon kind.
Solid colors are always a safe bet, but don’t shy away from mixing and matching patterns and colors to create a look you love.
Layering is a smart way to get multiple looks from one outfit. A denim jacket or a sweater can do wonders.
Hats can be a fun accessory, but save them for last. You won’t want to wear a hat in every shot, and you’ll want to avoid hat hair and any marks on your forehead from the hat.
Remember to accessorize! Earrings, bracelets, scarves, and necklaces can really add flair to your photos.
Bring both casual and formal outfits. This is your chance to show off all sides of your personality!
I suggest going for four different looks during your session: a classic/timeless look, a formal look, a sports or hobby outfit, and a statement look.
I’ve put together a Pinterest board to give you some inspiration. Make sure to check it out!

Timeless Look
Choose at least one outfit that's classic and won't go out of style. We want something that still looks good ten years down the road. It's all about showing off your personality and style, but we also want some photos that can stay on the wall and never feel outdated. A fitted black or white shirt with jeans is perfect for this first look!

Floral or Formal
Grab something with a floral print that's soft and breezy. A cute dress or romper would be perfect for this vibe. The more flowy and relaxed, the better!
For the guys: Think about a sports jacket and tie or maybe just a polo shirt.

Structured or Geometric
Next up, let's mix in some structure with those soft or floral vibes. Consider adding plaid, stripes, or other geometric patterns.
For the guys: Picture a plaid button-up or a striped shirt.

Uniform/Hobby Outfit
Make sure to grab any school gear you've got, like your football, cheer, or band uniform. This is all about showing off who YOU are! If track is your thing, don't forget your sneakers. If you're in the band, bring along your instrument.
It doesn't have to be just school stuff either. Love riding horses? Definitely bring your horse and boots! Into painting? Bring your painting clothes and a canvas. Painting is a blast!
Whatever you’re passionate about, let’s capture it!

Themed Look
Let's do something awesome! Time to show off your fun side!
Try wearing something you wouldn't normally wear or grab a prop. How about a fun matching two-piece, some oversized glasses, bubble gum, or super high heels? Maybe even your prom dress? It's a perfect chance to snap some pics in it without the prom rush.
Whatever you pick is cool! Let me know ahead of time so I can start brainstorming ideas for your session!

Hair and Makeup
I think it's awesome for girls to get their makeup done professionally for a photo session, but if you love doing your own makeup, that's cool too! Just do what makes you feel good. These are your photos, after all!
Don't stress about any pesky blemishes; skin retouching is included in every package. I'll handle it after the session.
Style your hair however you like it best! Bring along extra hair spray, bobby pins, or whatever you need to keep it looking great.
Guys, if you're planning to get a haircut for your senior session, make sure to do it at least a week before the session date. And don't forget to shave if needed on the day of your session.

What to Bring to Your Senior Photography Session
Make sure to pack everything you might need for your session. Bring all your outfits and any props you want in your photos, like a football, pom poms, or an instrument.
Like I said before, you should definitely bring a friend or two to help you chill out and have a good time!
Don't forget to bring some water, bobby pins, a hairbrush, makeup for touch-ups, tissues, and comfy flip-flops or slip-on shoes to wear between shots if you'll be barefoot or in heels for some pics.
Hey guys, don't forget to bring a snack! Ya'll like to show up hangry and a little snack will keep you from turning into the Hulk during the session! 🍕🍪
